Hinal Patel is a native of Macon, Georgia, and recently graduated from Mercer University with a BA in International Relations and Global Development and a minor in Political Science. At Mercer, she was an orientation leader, an international student mentor, served on the executive board of GirlUp, and participated in Model Arab League. She has successfully spearheaded two research projects in South Africa and the Republic of Georgia that were focused on community-based development and advocacy for marginalized populations. As an Indian American and first-generation college student, she understands how well-implemented policies and advocacy methods can benefit those experiencing hunger and poverty. She wants to serve as an advocate for immigrants and hopes to gain the right knowledge, strategies, and mindset needed to address anti-hunger initiatives.
