The Congressional Hunger Center (CHC) owns and operates this website. This notice serves to inform users of the CHC’s policies and procedures regarding information shared through our website.

While using this site, as with many others, non-identifiable aggregate data is collected, such as how many visits the page has received. In doing so, no personal or identifiable information is collected. This information is used to measure the performance of the website.

If you register for a newsletter, apply to the Fellowship Programs, or make a donation, you will be asked to provide personal information such as your name, postal address and email address. This information is collected only with your knowledge and permission. If you are making a donation on the web, you may be asked to provide your credit card details.

The Congressional Hunger Center may use the personal information you provide to:

  • Contact you – in response to a question/suggestion/fellowship application, or to mail newsletters, and other publications to you.
  • Confirm your online donation and registrations on the site.
  • Obtain payment for a donation through the site (via credit card).

Providing personal information on the web site is not required. You can still visit the site without providing any personal information, but you will not be able to donate online, register to receive publications, or apply to the fellowship programs.

Donations made over the CHC website are secure, with services provided by Google Checkout. Google Checkout uses encryption software to keep credit card information secure. When you are on a secure donation page, the site URL will begin with “HTTPS” and a closed lock symbol will appear on the status bar of your browser window. Donation information, including names, donation history and credit card information are not distributed.

The CHC website is linked to other websites, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and partner organizations. CHC is not responsible for content or privacy policies of other websites.
