Erin Warren is a native of Wilmington, Delaware and attends Villanova University where she is majoring in Global Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Global Health. At Villanova, Erin serves as the promotion & awareness chair for the Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week Committee—organizing anti-hunger and homelessness initiatives throughout campus and the Greater Philadelphia Area. Erin is interested in nutrition and addressing food insecurity in vulnerable populations. She has also interned with refugee resettlement agencies: Church World Service in Lancaster, Pa., and Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia. Through working with clients from these agencies, she learned about acculturation challenges faced by refugees and other immigrant communities, and their impact on hunger and poverty. This summer, she hopes to learn more about the ongoing research and policy efforts to address global malnutrition and food insecurity with the Hunger Center and the International Food Policy Research Institute.
