With a profound commitment to equitable policy change, Emily Irsik serves as the Recruitment and Internships Coordinator at the Congressional Hunger Center, orchestrating a distinguished 10-week summer internship program and collaborating with influential policy organizations. She leads recruitment efforts for three distinctive programs (Zero Hunger Internship, Emerson Fellowship, & Leland Fellowship) meticulously selecting a diverse cohort of candidates for the Zero Hunger Internship. As a Zero Hunger Intern, Emily conducted impactful research on food security within the Oglala Lakota Tribe, presenting a comprehensive policy proposal to stakeholders. Emily graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Health and remains poised to drive positive change at the intersection of policy advocacy and community mobilization.
