Carrie Johnson

Carrie graduated magna cum laude from Duke University as a Political Science and Women's Studies major.  She also participated in summer internships with the Amy Biehl Foundation Trust in Cape Town, South Africa, and the West End Community Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Field placement: Ohio Association of Foodbanks

Columbus, Ohio

Carrie developed and coordinated a statewide Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) outreach campaign targeting the emergency food assistance network in Ohio.  This project involved working with national, state and local stakeholders to strengthen EITC outreach in both urban and rural areas in Ohio.

Carrie worked with the Assets Team at CFED to promote asset-building initiatives for low-income families and individuals.  In addition to producing a state-by-state survey of Individual Development Account (IDA) programs, Carrie supported the Wealth Working Group and the Financial Institutions Working Group.
