Lou Gerber worked on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to a United States Senator and, later, as a legislative assistant to a Congressman.
For 38 years, he represented the Communications Workers of America (CWA) before Congress, rising to become the union's Legislative Director, serving on the AFL-CIO's Administrative Committee on Legislation. He advocated the enactment of laws to raise wages, improve employment conditions, and uplift the quality of life of working families.
He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
