Kate earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Kate documented and promoted two innovative anti-hunger programs, the Ohio Food Program and the Ohio Agricultural Surplus Production Alliance. Each program makes connections between anti-hunger efforts, corporations, agriculture, and the larger community, and will be replicated to increase food security systems in communities across the nation.
