Coalitions for Social Change in the Deep South

Brock grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and graduated from the University of Michigan in 2013 with a degree in public policy. As an undergraduate, Brock co-founded Students Organizing Against Prisons, a student-led organization focused on creating a world without prisons. As a student organizer with the Detroit Action Commonwealth, an organization of homeless and near-homeless people working for social and economic justice, he facilitated leadership development trainings and planned strategic actions. Brock was also a facilitator for the Growing Allies Anti-oppression Allyhood Development Program Retreat, where he helped participants explore anti-oppression issues and identity.

Tyler Mac Innis is from West Newbury, Massachusetts and earned a graduate degree in development policy and practice from the University of New Hampshire and an undergraduate degree in political science from Salem State University. He worked for the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension as a part of a team that developed direct marketing tactics for small scale fishers in New Hampshire's fisheries. Tyler also worked as the Program Coordinator at Newburyport Youth Services where he developed social justice curriculum and programming activities for the Department of Youth Services in the city of Newburyport, MA.
