9th class Leland Fellow, Rachel Gilbert, briefly addresses how the 2025 Forum on “Moving from Relief to Resilience” will address the issues and challenges that Malawi will face while striving towards resilience in all spheres of development in this blog post.

Rachel Gilbert graduated from the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy in 2017 with a M.Sc. in Agriculture, Food and Environment. Rachel also completed the Water: Systems, Science and Society Certificate while at Friedman. Prior to beginning the Masters program, Rachel worked at the Small Planet Institute, conducting research for the book World Hunger: 10 Myths. Following her undergraduate studies, Rachel also spent time in Cameroon working with a small coffee company and social enterprise as an Environmental Educator.
