Layla joined the Congressional Hunger Center in June 2019. As the Program and Operations Associate, she supports the Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellows Program and general management. Prior to joining the Hunger Center, Layla worked as a state government relations intern at McGuireWoods Consulting, a youth activism fellow at Truth Initiative, and an intern at the U.S. Department of Labor. Layla is passionate about global/public health, social justice, and international development. She holds a B.A. in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is an Arlington, Virginia native.
