Karolina Arias was a fellow in the sixth class. During her fellowship she did her field placement at the Food Bank of North Carolina and her policy placement at Prosperity Now. That experience proved life changing and following her time as a fellow she worked on Capitol Hill focusing primarily on housing, community development, and financial issues. Karolina’s time on Capitol Hill included positions working on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs as well as for Senators Paul S. Sarbanes (D-Md.), Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), and Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.). Karolina also worked at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund. She holds an honors degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a degree in public policy from the University of Chicago.
