Best Wishes to the 25th Class of Emerson Fellows

The Congressional Hunger Center celebrated the commencement of the 25th Class of Bill Emerson National Hunger Fellows on July 24th at the Hill Center in Washington, D.C.Fellowship alums, family, friends, supervisors, and staff all gathered for a night of recognition and appreciation for all the fellows have done over the past eleven months.

Representative James P. McGovern, Congressional Hunger Center Board Chair, met with the fellows and provided the opening remarks, offering congratulations, inspiration, and encouragement for the fellows’ work and continued work in ending hunger and poverty.

Each year a field site and policy site supervisor are honored for their outstanding leadership and commitment to ending hunger. This year, Dora Martinez, Community Development Manager at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and Tanya Goldman, Senior Policy Analyst and Attorney at CLASP received the Bill Emerson Leadership Awards for Field and Policy Site Supervisor of the Year, respectively. Fellows also had a moment to celebrate and express their appreciation for one another.
