Matt graduated from Duke University in May of 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy.

Field placement: Hunger Task Force

Matt conducted a statewide assessment of the food pantry infrastructure in the state of Wisconsin.  He also collected county-by-county information about emergency food sites to be used as a mapping tool for local advocates, and co-wrote and directed a hunger outreach video that will be used by local educators and advocates.

Policy placement: Feeding America

Washington, D.C.

Matt conducted an assessment of policy-related activities in which member food banks engage. This information was disseminated to Second Harvest (now Feeding America) staff to develop effective outreach strategies for Second Harvest Affiliates.
