Emerson Fellows Gather for Training, Travel to Field Sites

Emerson

The 23rd Class of Emerson National Hunger Fellows assembled for the first time in Washington, D.C. last week to take part in a two-week training to prepare them for placement with their field sites. The training, encompassing topics of hunger and food insecurity (including sessions on Federal Nutrition Programs); racial equity; food justice; U.S. anti-poverty programs; privilege, power and oppression; and disability justice, is designed to prepare them for their six-month partnerships with community-based organizations across the country.
