20th Class Emerson Fellow Policy Placements

Emerson

CHC welcomed the 20th class of Emerson Hunger Fellows to Washington D.C. for their policy training in February.  These 16 leaders came together to share their experiences from the field, learn about hunger and poverty policy, and prepare for 6 months in their policy sites.  They continued to explore issues of identity, race, class, and gender in the context of policyThey heard from experts on legislation, litigation, regulation, and advocacy and attended skills training workshops on presentation skills, networking, and policy writing.  And now they’re applying that learning as they work diligently with their policy sites on hunger, poverty, racism, and related issues such as homelessness, immigration, affordable housing, health care, healthy food access, and sustainable agriculture. Click below to see a list of the policy sites where Fellows are working.
