MELODY MCNEIL

Field Placement: International Service for Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications in Nairobi, Kenya
Melody promotes sustainable agriculture programs in Kenya and Uganda by researching the benefits and barriers to biotechnology for small-holder farmers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Policy Placement: Bread for the World in Washington DC
Melody will work with policy analysts to integrate support for biotechnology projects into Bread for the WorldÒs comprehensive agriculture policy.
Detailed work plan assignment

Education/Experience: Melody graduated Magna Cum Laude from Elmira College and earned a Masters of Science in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University. She was a participant in the Russian Leadership Exchange Program, as well as the U.S. Congressional Page Program.




ALISHA MYERS

ALISHA MYERS

Field Placement: Catholic Relief Services in Nairobi, Kenya
Alisha works with the new Sudan Strategic Program Plan developing educational materials related to food security strategies. She travels to Southern Sudan to evaluate local farming systems management and coordinate seed fairs for Sudanese farmers.

Policy Placement: Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore, Maryland
Alisha will provide research and advocacy assistance to the Policy and Strategic Issues Division. This research will focus specifically on the ongoing advocacy of food policy and foreign aid in Africa.

Education/Experience: After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Spelman College (1998), Alisha served as a Fulbright Fellow in South Africa and as a Fellow for the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH) in Ethiopia. Alisha has also studied in Germany, Italy, and England and speaks fluent German.
