Pact is a networked global organization that
builds the capacity of local leaders and organizations to
meet pressing social needs in dozens of countries around the
world. Its work is firmly rooted in the belief that local
communities must be the driving force in ending poverty and
injustice.
In this assignment, the fellow will work within
the WORTH program, an innovative initiative that enables women
to increase their family income. WORTH began in Nepal and
is currently being implemented in several other countries.
The field placement in Cambodia will provide the fellow with
the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in implementing
a successful women's empowerment program within a new country
setting and to contribute to the growing knowledge base of
how this program can be adapted to diverse cultures. During
the policy year, the Fellow will work at Pact headquarters
to institutionalized the WORTH program model to support its
global expansion.
Education/Skills Required
- Master's Degree in International Development with focus
on gender and development, microfinance or Asian Studies.
- Previous work experience in Asia preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office required, HTML a plus.
- Khmer a plus.
Other Considerations
Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in
the world. This position will require travel outside of the
capital where roads and other amenities are not well developed.
