Management Systems International (MSI) is a
woman-owned consulting firm serving clients worldwide in areas
of expertise such as planning, monitoring and evaluation,
managing policy change and training. MSI's child labor project
in Morocco aims at reducing poverty through expanded access
to education for young girls from remote rural areas.
The Fellow will work on a Department of Labor
funded project to curtail the widespread practice of hiring
child labor, focusing especially on the predicament of petite
bonnes or little maids. These girls leave their families to
work as domestic servants in wealthy households for as little
as one dollar per day, and have no opportunity to attend school
or even play with other children of their own age. During
the policy year, the Fellow will work as a project management
assistant at MSI's headquarters office, a unique opportunity
to get intensive hands-on training in international technical
assistance work.
Education/Skills Required
- Master's Degree in Education, International Development,
or Child Psychology.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- French proficiency required.
- Previous living/working experience in Morocco or North
Africa a plus.
