Action Against Hunger is part of the International Action
Against Hunger Network comprised of four head offices and
programs in over 40 countries around the world. It directly
assists populations vulnerable to hunger in accordance with
its guiding principles of independence, neutrality and transparency.
During the field year, the Fellow will work on an in-depth
analysis of food aid policies and programs and its impact
on Ethiopia's local and national economy. The overall goal
of the placement is to provide strategic recommendations for
future interventions in targeted areas. During the policy
year, the fellow will work in Action Against Hunger's UK office,
on "Hunger Watch", a new initiative that analyzes
causes, responsibilities and responses to hunger and defines
policies for the International Network.
Education/Skills Required
- MA in Economics and/or Development Studies.
- Specialization in Food Security/Rural Livelihoods desired.
- Previous overseas working experience in Africa.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Other Considerations
The position will require some travel to other offices within
the network, as well as travel within Ethiopia.
