The Congressional Hunger Center and the Carnegie Mellon Heinz College have teamed up to create a graduate level education opportunity for current and past fellows of CHC’s Emerson National and Leland International Fellowship Programs.
Emerson and Leland Fellows are eligible for admission to the Heinz College’s Masters of Science in Public Policy and Management and the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management programs. The Heinz College’s programs have been ranked consistently in the top ten public policy programs by the US News & World Report.
The MSPPM program offers courses that help further develop the leadership and problem solving skills of fellows to address current public policy issues. Curriculum information can be found here.
The MSPPM is offered as a two academic year study, or as a three semester study with prior professional experience or participation in a leadership program, such as the Emerson and Leland Fellowships.
Current fellows and alumni may begin the three semester track in August following the completion of their fellowship and complete the MSPPM program in 16 months, graduating in December of the following year.
All current fellows and alumni are eligible for a scholarship of at least $6000 per semester if admitted into the program.

The MSHCPM program is designed for students interested in areas of health policy and management. Additional details and curriculum information can be found here.
The MSHCPM is offered as a four semester program, including a required summer internship.
Current fellows and alumni may begin in August following the completion of their fellowship and complete the MSHCPM program in two years.
All current fellows and alumni are eligible for a scholarship of at least $6000 per semester if admitted into the program.
