Katie documented and promoted two innovative anti-hunger programs, the Ohio Food Program and the Ohio Agricultural Surplus Production Alliance. Each program makes connections between anti-hunger efforts, corporations, agriculture, and the larger community, and will be replicated to increase food security systems in communities across the nation.
Katie developed anti-hunger education materials designed to empower the network of citizens, chefs, and corporations working with Share Our Strength to create self-sustaining social action by building community wealth.
Katie earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
