Jason Forauer worked in a remote southern district of Ethiopia on a project to diversify income and assets of pastoralists and to raise their household incomes. He trained community animal health workers, educated community members about group and individual savings accounts, and provided alternative income generation strategies.
Jason worked as a member of the food security unit, where he researched and developed agricultural marketing strategies for food security programs in the field.
Jason received his MA in International Development from Clark University. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal working on sustainable agriculture, and also interned with Oxfam Quebec where he assisted in the planning and coordination of a fair trade advocacy campaign in Montreal. He is fluent in Sereer and proficient in French and Wolof.
