Catherine helped to start Full Plate, a non-profit dedicated to ending hunger through research, education and collaboration. She completed a Community Food Security Needs Assessment study and established a coalition made up of various anti-hunger and poverty organizations throughout the state. The mission of the coalition is to work together to end hunger in Hawaii.
Catherine worked on health, hunger and nutrition issues for the Head Start Community. She also organized a team of nutrition specialists across the country to establish a nutrition track for NHSA, and wrote several articles and fact sheets on Nutrition and Federal Assistance Programs, obesity, oral health care access, and physical activity.
Catherine received a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy Analysis from Pomona College, where she researched Alzheimer’s disease, aging issues and adolescent obesity.
