CHC Director Receives National Award!

The Congressional Hunger Center (CHC) proudly announces that Edward M. Cooney, CHC Executive Director, has been awarded the 2008 Gene White Lifetime Achievement Award for Child Nutrition by the School Nutrition Association (SNA). Mr. Cooney will receive this award at the 5th annual A Possible Dream Gala to be held on March 4, 2008 in Washington, D.C. The award honors national level leaders who advocate for improved childhood nutrition, and past recipients include Senators Bob Dole and George McGovern, Dr. Josephine Martin, and Ms. Catherine Bertini of the World Food Program. The award’s namesake, Gene White, is an extraordinary woman who continues to dedicate her life to children and the benefits of good nutrition.
