Why: We invite you to participate with us as we: honor those who continue to fight hunger and poverty in our communities and throughout the world; celebrate the intellectual, professional, and service-oriented contributions our current and former fellows make to end hunger and poverty; and highlight more than fifteen years of accomplishments and progress made by the Congressional Hunger Center in its mission to fight hunger by developing leaders.
Honorees: At the reception, Congressional Hunger Center Co-Chairs Rep. Jo Ann Emerson and Rep. James P. McGovern and CHC Founder Ambassador Tony Hall will present awards to:

Why sponsor? Hunger is a persistent problem in the United States. In 2005, according to the U.S. Census Bureau survey, 35 million people lived in households that did not have assured access at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life. And according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), more than 850 million people around the world are considered undernourished.
CHC believes hunger is a solvable problem. For over 15 years, we have:
- Trained a new generation of committed anti-hunger leaders — more than 500 leaders to date!
- Provided connections between policymakers and frontline anti-hunger activists.
- Been a voice on Capitol Hill for the hungry in the U.S. and around the world.
